This is done to check upto which level a material is able to sustain stress, and when it can start deforming. Based on the needs of the material standard, like IS 1786/2008, in needs to be parallel at a particular distance. To be able to regulate this distance, an insert is utilized. Generally, testing is conducted at room temperature.
The Rebend test is designed for measuring the impact of Strain ageing (a type of embrittlement effect happening after cold deformation by nitrogen diffusion into the steel) on the steel.
Chemical Analysis Test
In this type of evaluation, a spectrometer is used to test the chemical composition within a span of 10 – 15 seconds. It can offer results of up to 26 elements present in the bar in a printed form.
